Alpek Polyester is a global chemical/manufacturing company in the polyester market. Based in North Carolina, Alpek operates 26 plants.
Challenges and Objectives
Alpek faced the challenge of carrying out a critical migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4 HANA. To achieve this, they needed expertise in new technologies, ABAP development, support for their internal ABAP team, and the development of new operational strategies. The objectives were to support digital transformation, acquire experience in new technologies, and expand their development team.
Implemented Solution
In response to Alpek’s challenges and objectives, Proceti deployed its team of SAP specialists. An ABAP S/4 HANA team was implemented, closely collaborating with Alpek’s IT team. Over a 12-month period, the team focused on migration and the development of enhanced operational strategies. Tasks included implementing modules like SAP PP, MM, SD, QM, and WM, analyzing business processes, migrating and developing Z programs, and creating interfaces with external systems.
